Tuscan currently insured through Competition Car Insurance; policy renewed 6 month ago. Mileage restriction has been set to 5.000 miles and, with still another 6 months to go, just figured out that I have only about 400 "legal" miles left. Bugger.

Suspecting that I cannot be the only one on here who found himself in that situation- how did you guys got around it?

I certainly will give the insurance people a call, but wanted to listen to your advice, first, before I get I reply I really didn't want to hear.

Anyone able to comment?

Pretty sure they can just increase it (with a small charge of course)

I'm with Mannings, 5k limited mileage with a guaranteed value. Did 5000 miles in just under 5 months, oops!
Upped the mileage to 7000 for an extra £40, lost the guaranteed value.
Sat at 10 miles off 7k, just upped it to 10k (Basically unlimited) cost another £117, definitely lost any chance of guaranteed value.
Will go back to 5k next year with the guaranteed value and hopefully keep under it, but if I don't, such is, this car is made for driving and that just what I'll do!

I'm with Mannings too.

I exceeded my 7K limit - noticed in August at renewal!!
I was a bit expansive with miles last year doing the N'ring and then on to Nuremburg, plus a trip to Belgium to help my son move from Rotterdam to Ghent. Probably around 2500 mls of European travel, coupled with the usual UK 'trips', tended to bump the miles up

However, my view is that they are too much fun to drive to keep them as garage queens.

Mannings agreed to keep policy as is - but watch it next year!!
