Mk1 Tuscan S radio
Discussion
I've just removed the DAB radio that comes standard in the Tuscan S with a new regular radio/CD. The multi plugs fit fine as does the aerial but you cannot connect the lead which I assume has something to do with the DAB box in the boot.
Unfortunately there is now absolutely no radio reception, as if the aerial required some sort of power feed from the DAB box!! Has anyone ever had any experience of this?
Thanks
Richard.

The Ariel for a DAB equipped car is fed via the Pioneer Ipbus connector not via the normal FM Ariel connector. Therefore unless you have a Pioneer unit capable of taking the IP bus plug (units with the prefix P in front of the model number, i.e. DEH-P88RS for example) you will have no FM reception
ahh its all coming back to me now. If you can get to the DAB box you should be able to unplug the aerial and connect a convertor cable - one of these I think

Yes you will have to run it all the way. I didn't because if I remember correctly the FM Aerial in a Cerbera is the rear window element so its wired regardless of whether the car was factory fitted with DAB. However thats not obviously the case with a Tuscan so I think FM and DAB shared the DAB Ariel and the signal went over the IP Bus
To be honest I am not 100℅ sure, trying to remember when I stripped out my Pioneer DAB and went Blaupunkt. I know I didn't have to run a cable and pretty sure it was because the Cerbs FM aerial is seperate from the DAB
