v rough running around 1800rpm

Hi Chaps,
first time posting in years. i have a 12 year old tuscan mk 1 ive had since new which sadly was off road for three years up until a few months ago because work commitments wouldnt allow for the temperamental nature of the car.
anyhow, ive recently had the car put back on the road and have had a general service from a local bentley specialist garage, so no tappets done yet.
after having the computer reset and errors cleared due to a dead battery for three years, everything seems fine apart from the odd flash of a code L error (road speed sensor).
ive noticed, however, that it seems an extremely jerky ride when driving constantly at low speeds, 20 in second, or 30 in third, sometimes its almost as if the engine is about to stall, but it hasnt yet. the only other thing ive noticed is that the engine runs a little high, idling at 1000-1100, which i figured i could have adjusted when i get the tappets done.
any ideas as to what might cause this kind of problem? am hoping desperately that its just a tappet adjustment and resetting of the ecu as opposed to something more significant!
the engine was rebuilt by tvr power after the car had done about 20k miles from new and i had the lambdas checked and they seem fine.
unfortunately im a mechanical heathen with very little knowledge - any help at all would be much appreciated. in addition, suggestions for anyone trustworthy that i could take the car to in and around london would be very welcome - over the years ive taken the car to lots of different garages because ive found so many that i struggled to trust, either on prices or on service.

Probably poor throttle balance. There seems to be a spot at about 2K where the throttles are a little open but the balance is...well...iffy at best ! After many goes at improving this it seems you can never quite get rid of the effect...a little stutter at light throttle at the speeds you say. Sounds like yours is even further away from balanced
Perhaps throttle position sensors (pots)?
When mine ran rough it turned out to be this. I believe they are carbon track/wiper items. I suppose they could degrade with age or get moisture, dust and dirt into them. Getting on to a laptop with the TVR software would show up any erratic inputs to the ecu.

ive never dealt with str8six before, but think will take your advice. didnt have the opportunity to take it to a specialist once i had it on the road other than popping by an old now ex-dealership who still had the diagnostics capability - they checked and felt it was running well. said i could take it to them for a tappets adjustment next time i was up north which is where they were based.
but everything i read about st8six here on the message boards seems like glowing recommendations. in the past ive been ripped off by various dealers and specialist garages which is why im a bit wary.
thanks again for the feedback everyone!

I've just had mine done by them, 12k service and some further work. It was my first time to take the car to them so I double checked everything as I like to check these things and all was done as they said and I received a great and very friendly service from Jason so I'll be happy to take my car back to him in the future. He sure does know his TVR's. Hope he can help you.
