I need to remove the n/s front side light bulb due to a poor/intermittent connection. I have the inspection cover removed from the inner wing but trying to view the layout inside is a pig. Can anyone advise how the unit is removed?

Thanks
Richard

I just did this yesterday. Just stick your hand in there and feel for where the side light is, hold onto the rubber at the base of the light and pull. It pops out easy enough. You can then trace the wires back. I also had a poor connection and found that one of the wires had come adrift where a connector was. Stripped back the wire and respliced it, all sorted now.

Thanks, i'll give it a go tonight (I could feel the rubber end cap just didn't want to force it incase there was a specific way of removal).

Cheers

It pops out from the front, so just push it out and play with the wires at your leisure in daylight.

careful when sticking your hand in there! - I sliced my finger open on some sort of sharp gobbo that a previous owner had applied to keep the sidelight in place

Thanks for the comments.

I removed the bulb holder and bulb from the inside and found a loose connection at the bulb insert, however there was no way I could refit the bulb holder and properly refit the rubber shroud over the lens collar.
I ended up having to remove the lens unit (pushed out the front), though this was a complete bar steward as not only was it virtually impossible to compress the two plastic spring retaining lugs but the unit was also siliconed in. However job now done and next time at least I'll know what the process is.

Cheers again for the advice,
Richard
