Tuscan Sp6 (2001) water ingress - help!
Discussion
Morning. Sorry to bother you all but I have a not insignificant amount of water in my drivers footwell, which is obviously not ideal. What's more, it appears to have impacted the window ECU, which I hope is a temporary effect.
Is there a common/easy fix like a blocked windscreen drain or something I can look at? I've read elsewhere that it amy be that the door has dropped - is there an easy way to check this without sitting inside under a hosepipe?!
Thanks chaps.

If the door dropped you'd notice it in the shut line and have problems opening and closing the door. If this isn't the case then it is likely to be one of the seals - door seal or windscreen seal.
The window ECU is under the dash on the right hand side, above the Engine ECU. Normally accessed by removing a hard panel that is just held in by velcro on the right hand side of the accelerator.
I find it hard to imagine a leaking door seal can pour water on the window ECU but I suppose it is not impossible.
The other thing you could look for is whether there is a bulkhead seal (bung) that has come out between the engine bay and the driver's compartment - you'll need to remove the bonnet and have a look at the bulkhead from the engine side.
You could try to track the leak down or eliminate certain seals by doing as you say and sitting in the car whilst someone sprays a hose around.
Sorry can't help further.
Regards
Phil.

I'd go for replacing the seal around the whole cabin.
You can get the profile from any of the usual suppliers - R.Green/Clever Trevor/racetech etc.
To do the job takes about 8M of seal - which goes around the windscreen header rail, down the sides to the bottom of the door aperture up the B pillar and across the rear targa 'lip' to go on around the pass. side door opening...whew!
It could be ingress from the bulkhead - typically the piercings in the grp for the brake/clutch pipes. A light shone on the engine side directed onto the bulkhead might show a potential leak path.
The window ecu's (2 of them) are located under the centre console - just in front and lower than the circular ashtray. Maybe it is the window encoder on the window lift motor that is the culprit? These usually respond to a spray with contact cleaner.
The seals on the car do need replacing periodically. If yours have never been done then I would do so. Good luck.
