Discussion
Couple of questions:
1. Anyone got a preferred shade of black (not including reflex ones)?
2. Anyone with a black one got any experience of having to deal with stone-chips... do they "touch up" easily?
Started thinking about practicalities, and if I add 15,000 miles or so to my Tusc once it's resprayed, I'm wondering if that'll mean ending up with a distinctly two-tone car if I go for black...

Wouldn't say Moonraker was "slightly" metallic.
It's very metallic indeed, much more than most, such as BMWs carbon black.
Mystic is the perlescent black, less flecks in it and therefore a darker black.
Nebula is just nuts.
Got Moonraker, but had the front armourfended so there is hardly a mark on it. Yes you can see the edge of the film, but for me I prefer than to the shot blasted look, and it will just peel off.

Nebula black, albeit a loony paint job, disguises the stone chips really well. If you want to see a Tuscan with it, H L Gorner have (had) it on their Tuscan S demonstrator.
Any shade of black is better than Volvo brown.![]()
Is nebula the shade of black that looks like a nursery school was visiting the paint factory and emptied their satchels full of glitter in the to vat?

Choose a black with depth that isn't dull but not glitzy. And I agree with BT52 - add Armorfend. You'll never regret it. And it's a whole area you'll never need to polish.
How much does this stuff cost and does it require professional to put it on? I imagine you must be able to see a clear line around the edge so doesn't this detract from the car's attractiveness?

The film goes half way up the service bonnet and around the bottom four lights.
Can you see the edge?
Yes you can see it if you are next to the car, but for me it's preferable to the shotblasted effect.
Cost me about £250 (sills as well) including fitting.

I've got it on mine (lotus azure blue) and it looks fine.
However I saw a moonraker black one with it on and it looked fecking terrible... very very noticable on the dark colours.
