rear diff bushes

Does anyone have any pictures of the bush set up. I have a knocking noise coming from the rear.......guessing it is the bushes.....how many are there and easy job to replace?

Bahahahahah.....all good until you get to the top mount....probably the biggest bh of a job on the whole car.

Among other things it involves a length of scaffold pole and a bloody big hammer. Or as some folk have done with Chims etc, cut an access hatch in the body above it. Might be easier in the long run?

Also check the rose joints as this was a cause for a knocking noise on mine a while back.

Mines off the road for the next month or so whilst I do some jobs on it and this is one of them! There are 3 bushes in total, two at the front, one at the top. I'm replacing the front ones with the standard metalastic bush but the rear one with a poly flex as this is the hardest one to do, so pushing in (and out when it goes again!) a poly bush will be a lot easier than the metalastic one. I'll still have to whack the original old one out tho!

Sorry this doesn't help the OP but as far as I'm concerned the most f***k*** arse aching job on the car is to remove the exhaust manifolds, with engine in situ, then refit them covered in thermal wrap.
