This sounds simple....... but what is the correct tyre size for a mk1 Tuscan. Im on 18" wheels, well the car is. Yes I have been on the sites and got all the sizes and they are all the same sizes just 245/40/18 or 255/40/18 on the rear, thought I would check tyre calculator not quite the same diameter by 17mm, so now thinking about speedo issues, I think that when new 16" wheels were standard 225/45/16 all round so no problems there. but tyre calc says big problems 44mm dif or 1 3/4 in old money lots of possible answers here I think, If this was a euro box and looking to fit aftermarket wheels and tyres you would not go with these sizes, the recomended dif is 2.5% max these are 7.22% The 18" size dif is 2.6% so in TVR world thats spot on, but joking apart I hope I have got this wrong or there is a logical answer

Non S MK1s on 18" wheels were fitted with 235/40 front and 245/40 rears as standard. They originally used 35 series but the 40 profile improved handling.

I use 235/40 front and 255/35 rear. Some people use 225/40 front as the sidewall height more closely matches the 255/35 rear.

If your car is standard '00 front geometry then technically your better off with 235/40 fronts plus 3mm spacers if you haven't already got them.

Rear 255 35 18
Mk1 Tuscan. 2000 Seems to handle fine to me but not sure if those tyre sizes are ok. They were on the car when I got it.
