Scuttle Panel - Which Sikaflex
Discussion
I removed my scuttle panel last weekend when doing the tappet service. The rubber strip which the panel slides into had some sort of black silicone type adhesive.
Im presuming its sikaflex, but does any one know which one was used.. there seem to be loads. Or if you have any other recommendations.

Its not cheap! about £30 a tube! I think you can buy a small toothpaste style size though.
Yikes. The rubber on mine only seemed to be glued down at each end. It seems to be some hard clear glue that dried clear. It didn't adhere to the windscreen. Any ideas what this would be. What do they typically use to locate the ends of the rubber after a service

If you Google for Sikaflex 221, I've seen it at Euro CarParts for £15 a tube - ond on the 'Bay for a similar price, when a single tube is bought.

If you do use Sikaflex, Make sure you ware rubber gloves. As it will stain your hands, and takes a long time to fade. I personally would not use any silicon. Its nowhere near as tough as Sikaflex.
Also remember to mask of areas that you would rather not have to use thinners on.From memory i think you will find white spirit works as a cleaner/thinners for Sikaflex.but only works when its still soft. There is not a thinners in the world that gets off gone off Sikaflex. But remember to try the white spirit on an area not often seen prior to use.
