Meant to post this at the weekend.
Drove home from straight Six last Saturday to Sussex after some servicing work, quite an adventure! Left in moderate snow, roads were clear; snow was about 8cm in the fields. On to M40 South and max speed with the spray and by now slush about 50mph with fog light on, praying the Muppets behind would not hit me up the arse. On for about 10 miles and the inside lane became too slushy, car was moving around a bit... into middle lane now and about 60mph as I needed to keep up with the traffic in order to not be rear ended. At the bottom of M25 snow was quite thick. Lots of salt was down so very slushy and a couple of ‘moments’ as the front end wandered a bit. Onto M25 and road was better, spray was unbelievable, constant window washer needed to keep a clear path to see out. 45 mins latter off Motorway and onto A24 for last 20 miles home, what a relief.
Car had been in for a clutch and throttle body roller conversion, clutch is now smother than my Merc 220, the huge difference is the throttle bodies, great tick over , smooth pick up, no shunting and engine much smoother and sounds heaps better ?
Straight Six did a great job car ran faultlessly, not an ideal snow waggon but better than I expected. Quite relived really when I pulled in my garage and next day washed off as much salt as I could.
