universal oxygen sensor

I need a new Oxygen sensor and they are very expensive. I noticed some "Universal "4 wire Oxygen sensors (f.e Bosch and NGK) with a "broadband" Universal spectrum.
Can I use them for the later Tuscan Mk 1 (4 wires) or is this asking for trouble
I know that the older Mk 1 Tuscan is similar to the Land Rover (expect the sleeve)
