Mk one Tuscan Main Bonnet
Discussion
Hi. I'm New to Tuscans. Just wondered what the procedure for removing the main bonnet is.
I notice there is a red handle under the parcel shelf each side.I guess that might be something to do with it, Plus the four nuts around the bonnet flange. I'm removing it as i suspect there is a leak on my Rad. What is it with TVR Rads !!
I had a T350C from new for 4 years. In that time it had two rads. The chim before that had one as well. Here we go again me thinks

Ok Bonnet off now.Don't know what all the fuss is about. Any road up... Whilst under there i found a Couple of things i'd not seen on the T350c. So I've taken a couple of pickies. The first pic seems to be some kind of presurised cylinder, About the size of a car fire extinguisher with what looks like a tyre pump up valve on it.Any ideas?
Next one shows two fibreglass boxes on the passenger side. What are they please?

Not sure what your cylinder is but there was some good feedback on rad refurbishment recently...

RE Aaron radiators, that was me that started that topic and mine seems to be fine, thought it is overcooling the water a bit, sticking around 75degs, but I could blank half of it off for now whilst the air it so cold, in the summer I'll glad of its efficiency!
As for the pressurised container, is it an oil surge kit? I've seen trackday cars with something similar fitted, when the oil pressure sensot detects low oil pressure from oil surge on cornering on track and injects oil to the sump. Looking at the history of your car and knowing where it came from (I saw the original add last year before the garage snapped it up to sell on for profit!) I wouldn't have thought it was for this....weird! Has it got any lines to and from it going anywhere?

Thats kind of what a dry sump system is intended for... and i beleive the speed six sump is additionally baffled. As for the pressurised container, is it an oil surge kit? Ah.I might have an idea what it is
I remember Tuscan Tim Telling me the oil tank has a solenoid in it which keeps the oil up the top of the engine, and remains there until the ignition is turned on next time you start the car.Its a pre oiler i think.so that the parts of the engine at the top get oil first. I've noticed that this engine is so quiet on starting from cold.Unlike my T350 which sounded like a bag of spanners from new. Could this be what it is?? Tim if you are out there can you confirm please.
