Hi,

i have two small scratches on my Tuscan,
where the roof fits on you have two bracket things on the back of it left and right, (locking pins go into them)

Was driving reaching 100 had not pulled the handles down in the boot for the pins to come out and secure it down and the backend of the roof bascially started to "fly" so had to slow down and stick it in the boot and when it was "flying" it scratched the paint a bit...
(a mistake that will not be made again)

is it possible to get Reflex Charcoal paint in a Tiny Ickle lil Tin? to just paint over those scratches? or is my best bet going to halfords and getting some dark green touch up paint (would it be noticeable)?

Any advice would be great!
but no "you didnt secure the pins and reaching 100 are you crazy"

Regards, Haydn.

I have scratched mine in roughly the same place and was told by Silverstone that you could get a touch up pot for about £30. However when some drunk fell onto my front wing on a bicycle and really scratched it, I was told by Newlun (the TVR Power body people) that the paint would be £500 a litre and that no way on earth would anyone mix a tester pot for touching up at that price.

The Newlun guy told me that Nissan do a similar, if less fancy, colour, which would probably do for touching up until someone with an insurance policy runs into me. I have not yet had a chance to find out if it's true so if you get there before me then let me know if it's any good please.

Would it be possible to just cover those marks over with some anti-rubbing tape? My Tuscan has had a strip of this applied along the edge of the bodywork against which the roof panel sits. It protects the roof from rubbing - paint on paint, and eliminates the possibility of any squeaks and squeals. The tape is black, very neat and tidy - and could be applied to cover those marks up.

Hi

My loved one managed to scratch mine in the same place, the good news is that it touches up really well. Ive have done several stone chips on the front pannel and they are all but invisible. I had some chips on mine when it was delivered and the factory gave me a touch up stick at the first service pending booking it in for the paint to be rectified.

Where do you get anti-rubbing tape? I need some for mine!

Thanks,

£500 a litre??? what the hells in it????

4 litres of car paint (admittedly not metallic) from my local place costs about £80...

The factory service my car and usually change this tape everytime. It looks a little like shiny black insulation tape, but feels more slippery to the touch. It is self adhesive on one side so they just cut it to length and stick it on. As to what it actually is or what its trade name is, I dunno. Maybe you could call their service department or a dealer to find out?
