My Speedo is all over the place, some times it is not working at all. I am getting diagnostics code K which i believe is 'speed sensor circuit open'. Does any one know what that actually means?!

I am guessing the speed sensor is knackered. Can anyone tell me where it is located, how easy it is to replace, and where i can get one?

While i am on the topic I am also getting a diagnostics code L. Happens quite randomly, the general pattern seems to be when it gets hot from being stuck in traffic or driving through town - stop start, stop start stuff. It doesn't seem to be causing any issues so not overly worried about it. but would be good to know what code L is for anyway and what it means!

Thanks,
Christian

Hi, it does sound like the speedo sensor which is located on the rear of the diff to the n/s driveshaft. Does the digital mph go mad too?

Check out www.mytuscan.co.uk for the fault codes, I can't remember off the top of my head what that one is. HTH?

yes it is very easy to replace, you'll just have to jack the rear of the car up to access it. Best parts places I've used are www.tvrpower.co.uk/ or www.racetechdirect.co.uk

Cheers

Yu could try cleaning it first and the cogged driveshaft. The pic on mytuscan is looking at it from the n/s wheel arch in line with the driveshaft.
