So my car went to Rebel Powerpipes in Barton-upon-Humber yesterday to enhance it's exhaust note. I have not touched the cats, they are as original as original can be, I had the 'silencers' removed (I say silencers but upon inspection it appears to be just an empty box??), and a sleeve inserted in the rear cans. Needless to say it is now rather noisey, and on the overun I'm not exagerating when I say it sounds like a cross between a Le Mans race car and a large hand gun!!

It is astonishing the difference it has made, and all for a not-so-costly sum of £120.

A short video link which my mate filmed on his phone as I left work yesterday...

Ha! I would but as it is my place of work my managers would not approve! I'll give it a go in a rival shopping centre though for sure!

This; 100%. Low- budget- home- simulation (not too scientific!): start shouting with the mouth shut. Great results, but noticeable difference when mouth is open ears

No that wasn't loud at all, however I was merely pottering out of the car park and not giving it any throttle at all. It is in fact MUCH louder out in the real world. I was merely referring to the back-firing, which was not an intentional result and completely unexpected! I would go for decats, but as I use the car as my daily & the fact that I live on a quiet Cul-de-sac in the country, both me & my neighbours would get mightily fed up of it in no time at all!

So I've done what I've done & I'm leaving it there as I can still control how noisy it is, before I end up being ousted from my village! Looking forward to tomorrow though :-)
