Just reading the PH guide on here and it states the tyre size as 255-50-18, as it happens I checked mine last night and they are 255-35-18.
Can anyone explain please..........does the 35 profile suit the car?

I should have added that they are 35 profile all round and seem fine.

255/50 is wrong.

You have the correct size tyres - a 50mm sidewall would never work!

The 50 doesn't signify a 50mm sidewall, if signifies 50% of the tyre width, so 255/50 would be 255mm wide and 127mm tall. 50mm would be a rubber band!

255/35 is fine, or 245/40 which is what the earlier (non-S) cars use. 225/35 or 235/40 on the front.

To keep the rolling radius the same (and thereby an accurate speedo) as the tyre width goes up the aspect ratio (height as a percentage of width) goes down.
