As above I have a MK2 Tuscan S and was checking the oil pressure when fully warmed up it is running at 40psi at 3000rpm and 35psi and 2500rpm at tick over 8psi. engine has done 10k.
This is pure interest as in the past oil pressure is a good indicator of engine condition
So What pressures are you guys getting and what is the mileage of your cars and Mk1 or Mk2 is it a rebuild if so by whom.

I got a 3.1 trooper that runs about 2.5 bar hot, and 5 bar cold. Does this count?

I guess you didn't see the word "tuscan" in the forum name. But good effort. "C- must try harder"

Depends if that's 3000 rpm or 900?

Usually irrelevant since oil pressure sensors tend to be very unreliable.

So do I get extra points for a better handling, faster 'car' than a Tuscan? laugh
(and with about average oil pressure) Must be up to a B by now.

Mk2S - 20k miles - 19psi on tickover, 56 psi @ 70 mph in top. Oil consumption per 1000 miles - negligable

Sensor & oil type will cause variation ,but my Mk2 S with the oil above 70 Deg.C is 18 psi at 900 RPM and 50 psi above 3000 RPM.

Trooper would probably be faster mainly due to the weight saving delivered from the the horrendous rust, your probably just left with a drivers seat and steering wheel. rofl

I'll check my pressure today. Pretty sure it's around 20 psi at idle.

Now I'm concerned, the highest pressure I see is 41psi

Checked mine... At idle with the oil temp in the 80's it was still 20 psi.

What grade oil are you using? It does make a difference, when I was using 0W40, oil pressure read about 10 on tick over when hot, Str8six use 5W40 and its now a lot higher.

Same here when using Mobil 0 -40w the idle pressure was 8 to 10 psi which is alarmingly low. With 10- 40w oil it's significantly higher. Or about twice as high at idle.

OK
I'm about 3K miles after a Str8Six rebuild. I've topped up about 0.5L of oil.
Oil pressures - cold/warm up phase = 60/70 psi. Hot idle (oil temp 70 degC) 20/22 psi.

At the running in service, Jason changed the pressure sender and this lifted pressures to current levels...was a bit concerned at 10/12 psi on hot idle with 'old' sender.

Mk 1 at 50000 miles - 14-15psi at 90C on idle rising to 50psi at 3000rpm. Now on my 6th oil pressure sensor and all of them have given different readings.

Interesting I still have the original sender, car seems fine, if you go onto my Tuscan they quote tick over 8 to 12 psi normal running 35psi, at least I fall into those two..........just!

All depends on your pressure switch and temp!
Had before 25 at 950rpm,
new pressure switch shows only 17.

So no worry, must be going up quickly when rising revs.
and not too low revs when in idling, min 850-900.
Low revs = low pressure
