Chaps - can I ask how your passenger footwell carpet is held in place?

Not the section flat on the floor but the part that goes up under the dash. Mine doesn't seem to have any means of securing it, it's just stuffed up behind the the vent pipes and air con gubbins and from time to time it just falls down. I've probably made it worse as I've installed a sub-woofer behind a small board but the carpet used to fall down before that. I really don't want to glue it into place as it would restrict access to the fuse (and now the sub) and I can't think of any sensible place further up to fasten carpet clips to.

Am I missing some bracket or bit of bodywork or do they all do that sir?

Mine looks to have been just held up with copious amounts of adhesive, all the pipe work and air con gubbins are covered in it.

Same here. I just use Evostik carpet adhesive, which is strong enough to adhere but without causing issues if you need access to the gubbins behind.

Why not glue some large Velcro pieces in place then it will be easy to remove and replace the carpet each time.

Thanks, I did try some velcro strips before but they either pulled off the fibreglass or off the carpet. That Tesa stuff looks a bit stronger though, I'll give it try and maybe stitch it through the carpet. Would have made life a lot easier if they'd put the fuse somewhere else!
