Sold my chim (after much heart searching)
Pick up my Tuscan next week cant wait.
I have put a deposit on the car but is there anything I should check before parting with the balance?
Its a 2000 model, I've done all the HPI check ect.

Check it's had a rebuild, if not just have a slush fund in case the worst happens, most have been sorted now, just drive the thing and enjoy it......

Check the chassis and ask for the bonnet to be removed... That will give you a good idea how well the car has been looked after. Check if it's still got Harvey-Bailey dampers and springs or if they've been replaced. Also check ALL electrics ... windows, lights, wipers, washers, mirrors, boot release, door release etc.
A 2000 car should also have evidence of the front wheel hub carrier DVLA recall being done.

Should be a round sticker on the VIN plate.... but I guess a lot haven't got it now. But it will test how knowledgeable the seller is smile .

You should look for full rebuild not just top end.
Also if it was a TVR rebuild pre-2004 then it would have been rebuilt to the original 'problem' spec.

Good ... you'll get loads of little minor problems/concerns... but fixing them is part of the enjoyment of TVR ownership smile . Hopefully no expensive big ones, but there are some good TVR support people out there (and some ste ones), just make sure you get the right ones.
