Picked up my Tuscan to day after owning quite a few RV8 TVR's
So far well pleased.

Just a few questions if anyone can help?

Easiest way to check oil from hot or cold ect.
Small issue with driver side window not quite reaching rubber trim how to fix?
Is it easy to ride the clutch or is it just me?
Valves shimmed last year is part of a 12000 mile service by Castle TVR about 1500 mile ago, should I have them done again now as part of the next service? and should it be a 6000 mile service?
How much for insurance been paying about £300 for 1999 450 Chim.
Other than all good so far.

Cheers

Ah! this famous oil question....

Drive the car up to normal running temps. Stop on the flat, leave it running. Open the service bonnet. Nip round and turn off the engine. Nip round the other way and burn your fingers unscrewing the oil cap. Pull it out, wipe it, insert it again but do not screw it down. Pull it out again a read it!

No TVR known cold procedure but plenty on here have stories of how to do this and will be along any time now...

I wouldn't bother doing the tappets till its done the mileage, but its up to you. I pay about £450 a year for insurance, I'm 32 car is garaged and 6k miles a year policy.

might be worth checking the clearances depending on who serviced it and who you bought it off? Same with a geometry check.

There is a reset procedure for the window on mytuscan.co.uk I think, but could be an encoder in the door.
Just keep your foot away wink
Insurance depending on age is £350ish for me from Mannings.

Ask away
