Cerber,

It's a bit demoralising replying to your request for help, and then not getting any feedback.

Hose replacement is fairly straightforward. Drain system by pulling off low radiator hose on passenger side.
Replace hoses as required.

To refill system it is best to raise the front of the car as much as you can, and place on axle stands. Ensure heater is on full 'HOT'. Fill system through filling cap - best to use fresh antifreeze - until you cannot get any more coolant in.

Start engine - keep adding coolant as it is circulated by the pump to maintain a good level. Check hose from thermostat housing as it gets hot, to ensure 'stat is opening. Coolant should now be flowing to the radiator. 'Just' open the radiator bleed screw (17mm plastic nut) on passenger side top of radiator. Air will escape from bleed. When you are happy ALL the air is displaced, tighten bleed screw.

Check level in swirl pot, this should be fairly constant now. If coolant is no longer 'bubbling', then replace pressure cap and leave engine to cool. THEN RE-CHECK . You may have to keep a close check on level for the next few weeks as any small air-pockets work round to the swirl pot and escape via cap.
