You will probably get as many answers as there are replies to this question as there is no best polish. People just prefer different brands based on ease of use or final result etc. If I was pressed to pick a good all-round product I'd go for Autoglym.

Re the scratch it depends on the depth. If it is really only a scuff (ie your fingernail does not catch in it) then it should polish out. If your fingernail does catch then it gets more complicated. You can still polish it and hope the appearance is improved so that it is not so noticeable or you can get yourself a scratch repair kit, also available at Halfords and follow instructions.

Requires a bit of courage though as you will be taking sandpaper to your pride and joy! Very satisfying when you have finished though.

Hi
Had problems with getting scratches off my Griffs paint recently and was advised on this forum to use Gtechniq P1 :

http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars/polishing/p1-...

Watch the video on their website which shows them treating a taped off area (its the 5th video down the page): amazing results. Ordered some myself and much better than any other polish I had used previously. It got rid of all scratches and swirls

Bought the 100ml size to try it out (which works out quite expensive for such a small bottle).....but after success using it I have since ordered a 1 litre bottle (better value) & the "FP1 Tri Foam Polish pads" to apply it with. The autoglym which I had been using didnt remove the swirls and scratches I had on the Griffs bonnet & nose whereas the P1 did.
