In the throws of replacing the clutch master cylinder in an effort to improve the gear selection process. Are there any agreed adjustment settings for the clutch - i.e the foot pedal rod, MC piston rod and the clutch bump stop?

As it stands i am able to refit the components to exactly the same settings as before but just wondered if there was anything else to look out for.

For the record the clutch pedal stop was almost adjusted right to the max (though it does have a large rubber cap on it).

My gut feeling is this will not be the overall answer but the MC was damp and the barrel upon inspection scored; i guess if nothing else it will have eliminated a potential future problem.

After thinking my clutch fingers were on the way out (again), I noticed my rubber stop had unscrewed itself. I tightened it up and everything is now fine.

I was later told to be wary as allowing too much clutch travel will put pressure on the fingers. Didn't really bother me at the time because clutch felt good as new, as apposed to not being able to select a gear!

However, I've not really had a close look at the stop - is there more to adjusting it than just screwing it in? If so, perhaps all I've done is screw it back in to where it should have been in the first place.
