Hi guys - given my recent frustrating loss of grip at low speeds I want to make sure my beast handles great when I get her back - I knew the shocks needed doing (still the factory ones - 13years old) plus the bushes are worn - Jason has already ordered some nitrons to sort this.

The tyres tread wise looked ok but they are 7 years old - would it be worth putting some new rubber on as well?

I noticed this site currently has f1 eagle assymetric 2's going for £125 with free delivery, would probably just go 255/35s all round http://www.tyreleader.co.uk/car-tyres/goodyear/eag...
which looks like a good deal to me?

What do you think?
Cheers!

Yep biggrin - I thought it would be worth mentioning - seemed a lot cheaper than all the other companies I checked.

Do you need to be in the motor trade to purchase from the above

I just ordered off the link above after Bennl's confirmation - I don't see why trade matters as it charged me vat - my order went through fine as far as I know (125.99 including vat)

Hi Darren. Do you mind if I ask how much for the nitrons? Assuming you are using eibach spring too? I am seriously considering doing the same. Just want to budget myself for it. PM me if you don't want to disclose it in public. Thanks!

At 7 years+ old then the tyres will be passed their best. I'd definitely swap them.

Possible dumb question coming up.....
What's the advantage of fitting 255's at the front of a Tuscan, aside from more grip?
Thanks

Some prefer 225s some 235s some 255s - I was just going by that with the newer tuscan they went with 255/35s all round and seeing as I was having nitrons fitted anyway it sounded fine to me.

I suppose a small advantage is wider tires will protect the rims a little more I guess.

Cool, I've got 255/35/18 Federal RSR's all round and was curious, but I guess it's down to personal preference.

Some say they notice a difference with regards to tram lining - or the slight difference in ratio with 235 40s - but from previous threads on it there was no consensus that I could see so I just went with what seemed most "standard"

Ditto, mine arrived today, ordered Sunday evening.
Just had a quick look and all seems legit, genuine Goodyear eagle F1s made in Germany, happy days!

Looks like they've already gone up to 137 so they obviously noticed - still cheaper than everywhere else though at the mo.

OP any chance of an update?

How are you getting on with the 255's on the front? what was you running before? any noticeable difference either way? About to order 4 new boots and am tempted by the 255 all round option.

Cheers.

Sorry - I still haven't had the chance to test in earnest yet =( Even when I do though - as the bushes and shocks were changed at the same time (14 year old standard shocks to new nitrons) I doubt I could make a decent judgement on the tyres any how =/
