All you learned folk out there - any ideas?

My wing mirrors have stopped working.
1) I've unplugged and plugged mirror ecu in drivers footwell. I sprayed pins with electrical restorative.
2) I've checked multipin connectors in doors and also sprayed the male/female parts of connector.
3) Now got button control pad on radiator in house for 2nd night to dry out.

This morning, I plugged pad in - got heater element led (red) ON for about 30 secs, then went out, and as I plugged mini multipin connector onto pcb underneath the button/control pad, I got a brief 'whirr' of the motor(s) in the mirror housing.

Should I continue to dry button pad/pcbs out - or should I look elsewhere? I did get the control pad wet whilst out doing "Dream Rides for Young Carers" just before Christmas...So expect/thought this is my own doing. The micro-switches on the pcb just under the control buttons 'look' fine/intact/not rusty.
