Now had my speed 6 for nearly a year. It was first registered in July 2001. It has done 12,000 miles. When I first bought the car the engine seemed quite smooth. ( Had Chimaera before). Had lots of problems with oil pressure indicator over last year, which seems to have been sorted. Not sure if I have just lost confidence in car, but acceleration does not seem too hot and engine is noisy. Any ideas? The dreaded finger followers. Help. Going deaf!

It's probably now due for a twelve thousand mile service and the valve clearances checking and adjusting! This will return the performance and smoothness that it had, they do tend to go 'off the boil' rather like a car used to when on big carbs and needing setting up. Hope this helps.

When you say 'noisy' do you mean like there's a little dwarf in there with a hammer going tap-tap-tap ?

I hope not 'cos that's what ended up with mine going back to Blackpool. Best take it to your nearest dealer and ask them to listen to it.

Fingers crossed it's just requiring a service
