Mine seems to have packed in! Has anyone had this happen to them, any tips on removing the existing one would be great!. I have the stereo out but access is limited.
Cheers

Can't help with the starter button removal - mines a Mk.1.

If you can see/follow wires from button to a convenient 'place', you might be able to cross connect the (2 ?) wires and see if that turns the starter...At least you'd be able to prove the button/wiring that way.

This does assume that it is effectively a spring-loaded switch - and just 2 wires going to it?

Failing this, guess it's a 'phone call to a dealer?

These are bds to get hold of and tricky to repair in some cases.

If think Dom had some left.

The pod can be removed, two M6 bolts behind the radio, may need to remove the cage. Check the ribbon cable is in the back of the switch, they aren't a great fit, mine 'fell out' when I upgraded my head unit. I've never removed the switch from the pod but guess, like most switches of that design, it's just a nut on the back.

Cheers guys!
I think it's defo the button as the car was running fine , then it wouldn't turn off. It had been sticky the last couple of days when starting.
I have already spoken to Dom, so he will let me know on Monday if he has any.
Have removed the connection but I'm struggling to see the way to remove the assembly. I can get a mirror down and see two tiny dome nuts, which I think must release the button. I ran out of patients today but will have another look tomorrow.
