Hi all

Very early thoughts and checking the possibilities of our first euro tour, 8 days in the Tuscan. So far looked no further than traveling from pool - Santander and then probably back via Calais - Dover Taking in Monaco, the Stelvio pass and Nurburgring, So so many gaps/miles to be filled!

If anyone who has done similar, or have been any ware around any of these places, venues/great roads, destination in-between all help and advice greatly appreciated

Budget is tight fuel aside laugh so no 5***** hear, just cheep hotels with parking, Schedule is also tight as have just found out I have to take my holiday by the middle of May eek .

Thanks in advance beer

Coming back from Nurburgring, try this place:

http://auxecuriesdelareine.be/en/.

Stayed there last year after the Spa Classic - what a lovely place, charming hosts...and 5 of us for 2 nights bed/breakfast and evening meal came to 100 euro each.

On our last night the Renault World series pit crew were staying. Much banter!!

Also, try this place
Le Fenil
Rue Saint-Hadelin 27
5561 Celles
Belgium
Great food, husband & wife run, IIRC about 55 euro for B&B in 2010 (on my way back from Nuremberg - but also do-able if coming back from Ring.)

You absolutely can't miss some tourist laps of the Nurburgring. Awesome fun, plus you are guaranteed that someone trackside will take some of the best pictures of your in your car that you will ever see!

I can't wait to make this trip in a Tuscan.

For anywhere in France (and, I believe the neighbouring Eu countries) you can't beat Logis de France.

There was a write-up in the Telegraph on Saturday on this chain of family owned and run hotels. Under new 'directorship' now and advising that standards are being raised from an already good base. The current year directory (hard copy) is available free from any of the places you stay.
http://www.logishotels.com/en.html

They all subscribe to the same ethos of offering good accommodation at reasonable prices.

Brilliant mate, they look pretty fair, and all over the place so might be a goer, one for the keep list, I must admit not giving this enough time this evening but in my defence I have been out all night with the roof off biggrin

I did a euro trip in the Tusc last year. We pulled in the Nurburgring (to watch the F1) but also stopped off in Stuttgart for the Porsche & Benz museums. If you do end up around there then I can highly recommend this place for an overnight: http://www.v8hotel.de/en It's petrol-head heaven with a massive car showroom on site. Not cheap but it's worth pushing the budget for at least one night on the trip. This year we're heading over over the Alps to visit Ferrari & Lambo, can't wait smile

The V8 looks awesome, if not this time, then maybe the next, as you say a bit pricey but would be rude not to!

If you build it they will come jester

Enjoy the Alps and the Italian car porn wink

Enjoy the trip, whatever you plan to do!

The good news is the ferry from Hook of Holland > Harwich is dirt cheap and an alternative to the tunnel - for me it is easier but depends on where you're travelling too.

It isn't far from the 'ring either.

If you're going to Monaco, best check your insured....

Looks like a lot of policies don't cover you there even though most people think they are covered..

Best of luck.

Thanks jayemm89

Had been looking into returning from Holland, just need to find an extra 10 days now and a few more ££££ and we should be somewhere near / might have to split the original plan into two, keeps the miles per day down and the misses happy.

censored just checked and you are spot on, 33 countries covered some of which I would not drive through for my own safety never mind in the TVR but no Monaco! Does state they will "consider" cover for other countries but at their discretion and as per usual for some extra pennies! banghead

Thanks for the heads up, would have took that for granted. Will give them a ring phone
