You will obviously need it programmed for your alarm and immobiliser. I think most key cutting places would be able to supply you a key blank.
Carl Baker used to be the expert on the alarms etc but I don't think he is in the country anymore. Someone may be along later with the name of another person that can do it.

Ok, here is the story, we were rushing to go out and the Tuscan keys were on the side in the kitchen. I have this paranoia so I do not leave any car keys on show, yes I know, stupid. I decided to put them in the microwave so nobody could see them, yep im laughing aswell. To cut a long story short after many beers I decided to cook my favourite meal, fajitas. This is where the trouble started, I chopped the peppers, onion and chicken and popped them in the oven on 180 and continued to drink one of my favourite ales, Lancaster bomber. Now this is where the trouble and fire started, now im convinced the wife said, can you pop the microwave on for two mins, the tortillas are in there. So that is what i did, i didn't get to sit down and take a gulp of bomber before all hell broke loose in the kitchen. I jumped up top hear the wife shout, s

Yep you can all laugh, im laughing myself now. Lesson to be learned do not hide your keys after many beers. Any way had a cracking drive today, i love my Tuscan it simply is the bks

Many cars are now stolen by breaking into a house and taking the keys. Hence the need for elaborate ways of hiding them, including the microwave. But do you just leave the keys in plain view so that the thief takes the car and leaves, or do you hide them and risk you and the family being put under pressure?

Its a tuff one, would you really want to tackle a car thief half asleep in the middle of the night. I think my wifes gilf gti has more chance of being stolen than my Tuscan thoughGive David Fairclough of HF Solutions a call, Meta & TVR Guru will get you sorted ASAP! all by post!

probably no need to have a new key cut as the metal blank will just unscrew from your charred key and go straight into your new fob. As above easier if you have the red plastic card with the key code on as if not the alarm will have to be reprogramed as will any of your other keys, fobs, immobiliser chips...

I believe the key/barrel is from a late Vauxhall Cavalier/Vectra....so I think the locksmith is having a laugh.As has been suggested, the key blade should be removable from the plastic body. Maybe worth splitting the plastic and seeing if the metal blade can be removed?

The blade of the key is a standard vauxhall and I got a spare cut at my local locksmith, from memory i think it cost me about £15. Armory Locksmiths Eastbourne. Alarm has been replaced on mine and uses a separate fob so not an issue for me. However if you still have original meta alarm / imobiliser then i expect you will need replacement genuine tvr key with inbuilt remote.
