speedo cowling
Discussion
I had some leather left over from some retrimming so I made a small wedge and covered it with the leather. This now sits between the upper cowling and the metal bar running the width of the car. It will only work if you don't need to adjust the steering wheel position. I don't as only I drive it. It actually holds it in place very well and is not noticeable, it also allows access without having to re glue.

Use various cable ties on the bottom one, securing it to the metal frame behind. You need to get creative here, but it's not hard to do.
The top one then sits on top of the secured lower cowling quite nicely, without the need for glue.
There's no way that approach would have worked on mine, as the fit was way off. I tried a few ways, non of which were any good, so reverted to glue. It helps that it's now carbon as I used black flexible sealant and it blends in pretty well. The top one then sits on top of the secured lower cowling quite nicely, without the need for glue.
