Hi, the front clip on my roof is completely out of line and thus does not fasten properly, has anyone else had this problem and is there a way of moving it or something to cure the problem of it constantly coming undone?

Looking at that 2nd picture, can you not just remove the bit that's attached to the windscreen surround (ie not the targa panel) and see how much movement there is? The holes that go through the metal receiving plate could be filed out in one direction so it aligns better.

Bear in mind that this mechanism isn't meant to take loads of load/strain, it's really just for an extra bit of security so if the rear roof pins came out then it would prevent it from lifting.

Yes I'll loosen the bottom clip and try that, I know it's just a second security thing so not worried but annoying that it keeps hanging down because it is so out of line!

It is designed to hold the front windscreen down , it is not a secondary security thing. If you do not do it up and you exceed about 60mph , the roof will lift clear off the car and pull out of the feeble rear fastenings.

I know this to be the case .

Do not think of it as secondary

The central catch was not even fitted to early Tuscans, my September 2000 one had it retrofitted FOC sometime in 2001. Only heard of one un-lucky owner loosing a roof panel. Looks as though the OP's has just come out of line and slackening the two Allen screws on the window screen rail and moving it back into position would sort it out.

''had it retrofitted FOC sometime in ''

I think it needs to be on there ,it holds the roof on for sure.
