How and where do I jack up the Tuscan ?

Its not in the manual, and I know its a silly question but where is the best jacking points.

I want to wip the wheels off for a good clean of the wheels and the arches. I would also like to get underneath to rinse off some of that Salt (yuk, Dirty dirty roads!!!)

Cheers

You can place a trolley jack under the chassis outriggers, just behind the front wheel and in front of the rear wheel, visible at the bottom of the wheel arches. You'll need quite a low profile trolley jack to get it under the edge of the bodywork without fouling it though.

Just find a really big thick piece of chassis. I usually use the tubes that are behind the front wheel arches (front) and infront of the rear wheel arches (back) - and run at 90 degrees to the length of the car. Best using a bit of wood or rubber between the jack and the tubes to avoid rubbing off the podwer coating from the chassis. Same with all TVRs really.

I bought a cheapie trolley jack from Argos for 20 quid. It's fairly small so goes under the Tuscan no problem. Although it's not the best built thing ever (the jack not the car) it's fine for light home use.

Quick tip

Try driving the end you want to jack up on to a couple of pieces of half inch ply or chip board, this will raise the body enough to get a jack underneath

Ditto... blue cheapo jack from Argos, complete with axle stands & chocks.

Personally drive the car up onto a couple of flagstones on the side of the drive to get that extra inch of clearance that's needed.
