Ok, I know it sounds like a stupid question but my question is really within what mileage range must the 1000 mile service be undertaken on the speed6 in my Tuscan S?

I saw one post that quoted the factory as saying up to 1500 miles was fine. Can anyone confirm that? I'm unable to get through to TVR servicing or the service dept of the dealer who will be doing the service... Ho hum.

For those who are interested, this is the second engine after the first one went pop at 8600 miles

The perameters are between 850 miles and a maximum of 1151 to keep your warranty intact.

That would have been me.

Because the factory couldnt book my car in for 12 weeks and although Blackpool is 200 miles away, it is the nearest service center since Newtown went, they agreed I could do upto 1500 miles as long as I followed the pre 1000 miles running in rules wich I was happy to do. I got it in writing via fax first though. I still have my change light set low (5000) and will do till the 6000 mile service just to make sure its well bedded in. You need to get it confirm from the horses mouth so to speek. Talk to Paul Forrest, he a top bloke.

Why not take it in at 1,000 miles?

Because there are no service centers nearby who can service the car in the next couple of weeks, and I happen to need to travel another 250 miles soon anyway, to a place where service centers abound.

However, I just bit the bullet and dropped the car in at a (vaguely) local dealer who have a v. good rep, and will leave it with them until they find some time.

Thanks to all those with the helpful replies

I opted for the early service at 950 miles rather than let it overrun.

1000 miles is not a lot really!
