Can anyone recomend somone to fitt Racelogic traction controll to my car? Have had the back end come round on me three times in the last few days on the gressy roads we seem to have at the moment I need to do somthing about it. I found some stuff in the achives but it would seem the system works well but the fitting quality was poor. I may have to look for some winter tyres in the mean while.

RaceLogic will fit it (for a price), at least they used to offer this service. I think Joolz has fitted one (maybe a case of 'never again' though!). If you're moderately handy with electronics it's not that hard to fit it yourself, but setting it up properly is quite tricky. Alternatively you may be able to get yourself a throttle pedal with 'in between' positions. I think Steve Lewis may be able to help with that.

Will give Racelogic a call. Every time the back has come round, it has been at no more than 40 mph and in a straight line, really violent brake away, just as well there was no other trafic about, havent had this problem before, tyres have 4000 miles on them and look fine.

Yeah I'll never fit racelogic again .. great when working but oh what a pain to get it to that point. racelogic have a series of approved fitting centres .. one of which is racing green who offer a tuscan kit for about 2 grand I think.

The main man speaks the truth once more.

Racing Green (in Ash Vale, Hampshire) should be able to help you out I believe.

Thanks guys, rather have it done by TVR people for sure. Joolz, if your sort me out with some Nitrons, will it void my warranty?

it won't void your warranty on the Nitrons as to the rest of the car you'd have to ask TVR themselves ..

I am speaking to Peninsula about fitting Race Logic to my Tuscan 2. They told me they have successfully fitted the system to previous Mk1 cars. I would suggest giving Richard a call (01395) 232241

This is my second TVR and I drive 50 miles a day on twisty B roads that I know like the back of my hand, as I said this is all low speed stuff wich is caused by the unmade edges of the road running with mud, this causes one wheel to slip and kicks the back out/front in so quick you cant catch it on a narrow road. Its not a lack of driving abiity and nothing to do with my right foot. Theres always this thing about traction control being woosy in tvr cirlces but with roads I drive on I would rather have my car in one piece and live to enjoy it.

hi i remember a news article last month called 'TVR Power races to Silverstone TVR' www.pistonheads.com/tvr/index.asp?storyId=9771
and it mentions at the bottom that tvr power are fitting this upgrade, so maybe worth looking into!
hope its some help, can you keep us posted on your progress!

So the car is just jumping sideways and it is nothing to do with you?

You might be missing the point slightly .. configurable traction control is so much better than any of us here .. why not use it? .. safer and faster cake and eat it time.

There is a case for not selling sports cars to people who can't drive them (I'm one of those! lol) .. but also for usign technology to help you drive the thing better.

If yuo've driven a car with properly set up TC you'll know what I mean.

The car might be jumping sideways for all manner of reasons, one might be insufficiently rapid driver reactions .. TC takes that out of teh equation, and it's action can also disguise all sorts of other chassis faillings .. it's a cheap fix for many things at once.

No as I said the road condition are very poor with lots of mud due to tractors churning up the road. I have no idea what the roads are like with you but if they are as bad as West Wales then I guess your just a Driving God! well you must be as you obviously feel the need to give people lectures on their driving abilities.

To everyone else, thaks for your input, I have email several companys and will post how I get on.

I know what you mean about the roads! Iam in the Forest of Dean, and the country roads over this winter have been nothing short of appauling! Always covered in mud/cowpoo/horse poo, you name it, it's on the roads!
Have to say though, I have never experienced any sideays movement in my Tam, but I do treat it with kid gloves due to the condidtions.

You said it is nothing to do with the driver, I disagree unless you have something else controling your throttle. If that means I am a driving god because I take responsibility for my own actions rather than blaming "the conditions" then driving god it is.

I am perfectly capable of not booting it when there is mud on the road, if you aren't then I worry. Spend the money on driveer training as Bogie said.

I really fail to understand your problem, is my interest in have traction control a problem too you? have you driven a re-mapped tuscan S on a greasy road? and no as I have said I do not "boot it" in these conditions, if I did I would dead some time ago, prevously I had a Griff 500SE and a Fiat coupe 20V Turbo with 280bhp at the FRONT wheels, I am not a novice as you assume, now if its ok with you I would like to talk about traction control systems.
