I have owned my car for 2 weeks now
Discussion
It has been 2 weeks now since I part ex'd my 5 litre Chimera for my Tuscan.
I bought my Chimera in the Summer of 2003, and I was over the moon when I bought it, and I can't describe the feeling of driving with the roof down in the sunshine when I picked it up, me, owning a TVR, not a car nut by a long chalk, but always having a soft spot for TVR's, it was unbelieveable.....
Its now a wet friday night in Bromley, girlfriend gone out, so I turn to the second love of my life, Chateauneuf du Pape, and as alcohol does, stirs the emotions, so I thought I would share them with you.
Tomorrow is Saturday - 2 things start to worry me on a friday morning:
(a) don't drink too much Friday cos I wanna drive my car when I get up, because i am just a big kid who plays computer games and dreams of dast cars and plays with his IPOD (didn't go to lunch at work today, curry/beer cos it could ruin saturday morning driving - sad I know, but succumbed (spelt wrong) to the red wine, alcohol shld be out of my system by 9am tomorrow - what a sado eh
(b) the weather - my car is Peacock Blue, looked dirty on wednesday, been raining last 2 days. I want to clean my car sat morning - oh no, forecast mentions rain/snow this weekend, used to bother me because I couldn't play golf, now worried that my car will look dirty.
To cut what is becoming a long story short, I love my new car.
It is beautiful
It sounds gorgeous
I am lucky to own my car - I would not want any other car in the world, and that is the truth.
If the engine goes TITS UP, so what. If I owned a Porsche I would have nothing to moan about - life would be boring, just like a Porsche.
Its the weekend, looking forward to driving my car. Would like to hear if there is a TVR club in SE London/Bromley, as would like to meet people with similar afflictions.
This car is a life changing experience (nobody ever stared at me when I used to walk down the road before.
A good weekend to you all, and i have drunk all my wine - off to the kitchen to see what else there is
Adam.

Sitting with a bottle of Sangre de Toro myself.
I've had my Tuscan nearly 2 years now and still look back at it when I park up and walk away. The guy I bought it from had 'upgraded' to a 355 spider and had both cars next to each other on the drive when I went to pick it up. Not for one moment did I wish I was taking his other car. I took my boss back from the pub in it last week as he had never been in a TVR before. I think he summed it up as he got out and said, "this is a proper car."
It is strange when people walk up and point their camera phones at you when stopped at lights. The best reaction is when kids point and shout as I know I would have been just the same at their age.

I have had my tuscan for nearly 3 weeks. First 2 weeks superb
. The reaction from kids to adults has been incredible. Before I bought it several people at work told me not to buy a TVR but since seeing it and me taking them for a drive they have since changed their minds. Unfortunately with the snow this week I have not driven it for 4 days and am getting withdrawal symptoms. Did go as a passenger in a friends Tamora though on tuesday which helped. Hope the snow clears this weekend.

nice to meet you too mate
did you take the trip down to Brighton last week ?
there seems to be so many TVR owners groups that get together its amazing. Not many cars that you can drive where when you see somebody else in one when you would pull over and have a chat, or wave at when you drive by
let us know when you are off on another jaunt when the weather gets better. I have been contacted by the SELONDONNWKentTVRCC chaps, seem a good bunch as well and hope to meet up with those chaps soon as the weather gets better
