Problem with MOT/Tires sizes 255/35-18 rear: Please help!
Discussion
Hi Guys,
I'm from Belgium and just tried getting my car through it's annual "MOT". Oh Lord, how do I dread these procedures...
I've got TOYO's (888) 255/35-18 all round and this has never been an issue on previous inspections.
Now some eager PITA told me the rear tires are not within specification according to his holy paperwork.
As I don't have the original manual I can't proof the rears were actually standard on a Tuscan S from 2005.
Now my question:
Can anyone send me a picture/scan of their manual (official TVR!!! Or something else with 255/35-18 and TVR stamp on it. Printout of webpage from owner's clubs won't do he told me, ... I know I tried) stating 255/35-18 was actually standard fitment on some Tuscans. It does not matter if it's an S or not.
Strangely enough, the fronts were OK according to this guy... Go figure...
Any help more than welcome!
Cheers!

Filip I have a TVR CoC for my Tuscan S is was no use for getting the car registered in Belgium, but it does state the 255/35/18 tire size (after TVR corrected it!), I can send you a copy of that if it will help.I don't think the Piston Heads PM system is working at the moment so let me know your e-mail address and I will send it.
Hi Filip,
The downloadable Owners Manual available on the MyTuscan web site shows 255's all round for an S model and clearly states non-S as different.

Hope this helps.
Good luck.

Hi Nick,
tried sending you an email through PH but seems out of order indeed.
Please let me know if you've received my details.
Thanks,
Filip

Is there any chance I could have a copy of the CoC as well?I'm assuming it's for Tuscan 2 S?
Cheers

I take it this is the Belgium equivalent of the UK MOT, as the tyre size has no bearing on the UK test other than if it fouls on bodywork during the lock to lock test.
Yes it is there equivalent of the U.K. MOT, but tyre size is normally stipulated on the CoC and any thing else is considered as a modification. The system is very strange here and cars like TVR's don't really fit into their mould.Gassing Station | Tuscan | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
