oil use

done 2.5k since 1st service and no sign oil level dropping at all. Was expecting it to go down a little bit, is this more usual than the needs a gallon every 500miles type stories?

My old car used very little oil and this one none at all yet. This is contrary to a lot of stories I too have heard, from dealers as well as owners. I have been told its a good sign though.

5,000 miles since rebuild. Zero oil used. The one time I tried putting a drop in just to make sure I wasn't going crazy, it spat it straight back out. Good stuff.

Mine used very little before the rebuild and in the last 1000 miles since the rebuild it has used nothing!

I now have three 1 litre cans of oil for mine. Unopened.
I originally bought one, and the garage have left one in the boot at the last 2 (6k and 12k) services, but the car doesn't appear to have used any. Ever.

Had new April 2001 Red Rose, NO REBUILD (had to get that one in) 20k and i still have the 1 litre of oil in the garage unopened. Hardly uses a drop between services.
After quoting the above its all going to go horribly wrong now isn't it

I have not had to top up my oil for the last 3000 miles, oil still looks nice and clean on the dipstick.

had a rebuild about 3K miles ago...for the 1st 1.5K miles I watched it like a hawk..and had to put about .5L in total..since then (another 2K miles) with hard use and its hasnt used any....prior to rebuild about 1L per 1K miles ....guess the only way to judge it is to get used to your own engine...but Id never go say more than 1-1.5K miles without at least checking it....just in case !
