have a tuscan x reg, the doors wont shut, the latch enclosed in the car body seems to be preventing the door from shutting, anyone got any ideas, or experenced it before

both doors?

Could be:
Loose latch in the door frame,
Doors have dropped on their hinges,
The solenoid to open them is locked open,
The cable emergency release is pulled too tight,
The pin in the door has bent out.

Not entirely sure on this. Can the latch be lifted up by poking a screw driver in? I suppose one method to check this would be use the secret method to get in and see if the cables are operating correctly. Also, the orangle emergency handles under the dash - are they pushed in fully?

What is the secret method to get in? Does it tell you in the handbook?

I've had this before on occasion. I can't remember whether I got around it by pressing the door opening button many times (stuck latch), or whether it was due to the door dropping ever so slightly, so lifting the door a little bit before trying to shut it.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Andy.

Had this problem on mine (W 2000).

Best check to start with is to unscrew the plate where the latch is and check the connector. I replaced a couple as both had the arm bent and lost the connection.

If that doesnt work then probably the solenoid. I had 3 go in 4 months. £15 component but an hour or so to fix, garage say really fiddly to replace.

Hope nothing more major :-)
