I am going to have to fit two new tyres on the front on my 2001 4.0 Red Rose, and I know we have all been over this subject several times but could anyone advise me on the current thinking please

I've got Goodyear F1 235&245/40s on my '00 non RR Nitron equipped Tuscan. They are a big improvemnt on the 35 profile S02s that were on originally. The only problem was that the F1s are physically wider than the S02s so I had to lift the back up to stop it touching.

What are the factory fitting now?

I'd go for 255/35/ZR18s... Eagle F1s or Proxes T1-Rs.

255 front & rear is good 'cos you can then switch them over to keep costs down.

Are the wheels the same offset, front and rear?
The reason I ask is when I had the cerb, (18" spiders) I was told to make sure they were Tuscan fronts.

Offset is different. So, if/when you switch tyres, you'll need to switch JUST the tyres (i.e. not the wheels too).
