Hi all! Recently sold my 4.5 Cerbera due to my weekly commute reaching about 400miles (which it was doing without fault) and am now alternating between a Land Rover and a 350i Wedge. I will be changing work location in the next 10 months or so and am considering a second hand Tuscan S (budget around £30K) rather than going back to my beloved Cerbera! Any Tuscan S specific advice/tips I ought to know about?

Test of one this weekend as I havent driven a Tuscan S yet!

If you've had a Cerbera there's not much to tell you really.

I'm sure you know this but.......
The only thing that seems to make sense is to buy as late a one as possible. According to what I've read on this forum and from J S Gs engine reliability charts from last year it looks like the engines have been MUCH better since around mid 2002. I guess TVR improved some components and/or some part of the design, but I'm only guessing.

I produce a Tuscan Buying Checklist which I distribute for free. It covers most of the things you need to check for when buying used.

You can download the latest version from www.carfurniture.co.uk - there is a tiny link in the bottom right corner of the homepage.

I've was told that (and the parts that were changed) officially by a dealer. So, I'm sure there has been at least 2 speed 6 engine specs. I wouldn't be surprised if there had been more though!!

Where can I find these charts?

Afraid I've deleted them from my web-space now. Drop me a mail and I can send you a couple of graphs across. Here's a link to the stats-thread, though:

JSG I take it from the thread that most of your figures were for the 3.6 S6? Thoughts on the 4.0?

Stats were for both. EVERY pre 2002 car will have been a 4 litre, and some of the post-2002 ones. My thoughts on the 4.0 are pretty much: don't buy an early one without a relatively recent rebuild... You wouldn't believe the number of e-mails I get from people who used to be in the "no rebuilds" camp that've now been forced into switching allegiance!
