First drive out for 2017 in my well pampered 2001 Tuscan and noticed steering getting heavier and heaver - pulled over and found a trail of thin reddish fluid flowing from car so reckon its power steering fluid. Ive booked it in to go to Dreadnoughts TVR guys in Stirling. Im in Glasgow. Question is! would you guys recommend NOT attempting to drive the 30 miles to the garage without power steering (just feels like my old Chimeara!) - Could I risk doing more damage and should get it trailered there or man up, get some muscles and drive it there with no power steering? - roundabouts are particularly tricky!! - seriously though - will i do more damage trying to drive it to garage? = cheers guys - much appreciated. Hi mate,

Same thing happened to my Tamora at the weekend but it was a slow leak so i topped it up, but some leak stopped in the reservoir and took it our for a drive.

However, once i got back and re-check the levels it had lost a fair amount of fluid so i have asked Str8Six to come and collect my car as i don't feel as though i want to drive it out of london with the risk of the steering going.

That said, you can just disconnect the steering from the battery compartment or the fuse board and drive it without the pump functioning.

Cheers.

thats an idea - I'll look into disconnecting the pump and just hauling it up the road! - cheers. S

A Mk1 Tuscan doesn't have an electric pump, just an engine driven one. Before driving I would take advice from the TVR specialist. Good luck.

It will be the rack seals. Topping up the fluid should allow you to drive it. A overhaul for them is common, I have a thread on how to remove the rack if ur handy with spanners
