Bad Leak in boot - help!!

Folks - wondering if anyone can help. After this mornings heavy rain, I have regrettbly been left with a 4 inch pool of water in the bottom left hand back corner of the boot, down below the fuel filler cap. This amount of water surprised me, as it accumulated in under 2 hrs.

Has anyone had this issue (specifically in the boot area I am mentioning) and if so, any tips on how to prevent it? I can live with some dampness, but 4 inches of standing water in a spot next to the fuel tank is not something I am particularly comfortable with.

some sealent round filler cap will sort it out ,to do a proper job loosen two bolts underneath filler cap ,pull filler neck up ,wont move far but anoth to put some silcon sealer under, then do bolts back up should do the job
