I just got my car back from its 1k service. One of the issues to be sorted was that the change-up light didn't seem to be working. On the pod set-up you can set low, mid and high change-up indicators. For the first 1k miles, my change-ups were set at 3,800, 4,000 and 4,500. I complained they were not working as I had not seen a change-up light, having revved to just over 4,000. To "fix" my problem, the dealer has set the low and mid indications below 4,000. Does this mean the lower settings are redundant, or is there a minimum speed at which these will work?

I imagine this topic may have come-up before, but Search isn't working at the present, so sorry if I'm revisiting the subject.

Any advice on completing the running-in? Gradually increase speed up to 2k miles? Say 500 revs every 100 miles, or so?

All the best,
Richard

I'm a little confused with this, if you set the low light to 4K is should come on at 4K. Or am I missing something?

I think that the answer is they dont work below 5000 rpm. On my old tuscan I had them set as low as 2000, 2500 and 3000 (when running in) but when I set them to 3, 4.5 and 5.5 on the new car nothing happened.

I have just trawled through the handbook but there is no mention of the shift lights in there.

Have you ever driven a S6? They make a loud noise all the time. By 50000 they are screaming, by 6 it is a banshee howl...........

Right.

Last night I reset my shift lights to 5000, 5500 and 6000. I am still running in (post 1st service) and so I only went to 5700 rpm. Nothing. This bears out my earlier theory that my shift lights only work on the top setting. Emailing the factory for a definitive answer.

Slight slip of the keyboard.

Sounds like 50000 though.

My dealer has informed me that, on the Mk.II, only the top setting works. However, the software hasn't been changed from the Mk.I.

Cheers,
Richard

So what are the Green and Amber lights either side of the red one for then? My red lamp seems to flash randomly, never have managed to understand it.

We are speaking Mk. 2, which doesn't have the green & amber lights. The surround of the pod display lights-up (red).

OK, a little harsh assumption, but what sort of reply did you expect in the Tuscan S6 forum?

a car costing 40 grand plus should'nt have a rusty chassis and worn out motors after 3-4 years and the amount of bog in them from the factory is un-real............ what you want is a nice 928 gts!!!! now thats a real car
