Any horror stories regarding the speed 6 engine on the MK2 Tuscans?

I am still waiting for mine, and would like advice on the running in period you all have followed. My first drive in the car will be a 80 mile motorway journey home and all I read is not to keep the engine at constant revs, etc, etc.

Also, I had problems reading the digital read-out on the test drive and have read on PH that a new Tuscan MK2 customer was told that all new build Tuscans would have the T350 dash???!!! Anyone shed any light on this??

same old engine as the mk1s, my june 04 car has had no problems to speak of. As for the dash, I hope they change it, test drove one on saturday and its was bloody awful, readout was hard to see even with roof on, sterring wheel is akward and the indicater fell off after 5 mins driving! lots of vibrations and rattles and the steering is numb. Im going to hold on to mine for another year till they are better sorted.

Sorry to bear bad news, but I have heard of 2 2005 S6 engines going belly up (what exactly happened with them I don't know). They were both being ragged hard on a track if that makes any difference.

Hi
There isn't really much more to add to running in than you have probably heard or seen on here. Revs should not exceed 2,500 in the 1st 500 miles and 3,000 up to 1st service. During that time I was advised to make full use of the gears and avoid cruising at a constant motorway speed. Apart from the main and crucial advice to ensure oil warmed up to 50 degrees before any enthusiastic driving, there isn't really any other major things to worry about.

With the pod issue, there are a number of rumours going around. I hope to have a factual answer within the next week or so as to where TVR are going with this. I am on the case and swapping emails on a regular basis. It seems a number of options are being considered.
