Hi all

Not sure whether it was high acceleration that did it or not ;) but basically the back part of my seat (with the tuscan badge on) has parted company with the rest of the seat

It seems the part holding it on has cracked and not sure if anyone has any advice on how to fix it back??

Or am i looking at having to by a new part from TVR?

Any advice would be helpful

Cheers

Use an allen key to undo the two screws at the bottom of the seat "shell". Carefully peel the Tuscan badge off of the shell. Behind that you may find the plastic backing has cracked and the bolt that secures that part of the shell onto the seat has nothing to hold onto. Use some strong glue e.g. Araldite to glue back together anything that has cracked or come off. Find a washer with a diameter that allows the securing bolt to pass through, but obviously not the bolt head, and place or stick it over the bolt hole (that is under the Tuscan badge area). You should then be able to reassemble everything, and the strain will be taken by the washer rather than the plastic when you re-fit and tighten that particular bolt. Then simply glue/stick/press the Tuscan badge back into position.

With your advice and a little bit of 'blue peter' added in I have sorted it.

Thanks for your assistance

I used epoxy putty, built it up around the thin plastic which is what usually cracks around the bolts. Then let it harden completely and then screwed the bolts in and the epoxy prevented it from cracking again. I first tried just superglue but it just cracked again after I sat in the seat and it stressed the plastic. Using the epoxy worked a treat and has not fell apart since....well not yet anyway but there is always time.
