hi all,,
got the new beast, 2000 RR, tuscan,,, bright yellow,.,,
first problem is it leaks,,,,,, badly,,, it really needes to sit out as have another car in garage,,
the water drips in constantly at the front of the windows on both sides, passenger one is worst, I have taken roof, and sealed up, with silicon, any little gaps around the rubbers,, there is plenty of the seal protuding forward from the roof line,, but it seems a little bit awkward where the seal on the roof panel, meets the windscreen strake seal..
door bins, get soaking as well...
back window looks like it should leak but is dry so far,,,,
just wondering if they all leak or can they be sorted,,
seals are all in good condition
cheers

Hi Scott
Welcome to the fray.
I eventually sorted mine after many failed attempts. Problem was actually finding out why the water was getting in rather than from where....?!?
In my case the seal that goes around the screen is pinched too tight at the top corners where the roof seal and screen seal mates on either side of the car. This has the effect of flattening the window seal at these locations. The water that runs in the front roof channel runs off either side of the car and spills in at the above locations.
To fix the problem I made a small hole in the screen rubber tube section on either side and poked some dense foam into the hole to fatten the tube out. I then sealed the small hole with silicon sealant. For the last month at least this has proven successful when washing the car, it has been out in rain since and survived a potential soaking of the interior.

If you don't get the leaks sorted it may be worth checking out the Leven Technology website (can be found via PH). They do a neat roof/cabin cover that will keep the water out. It does need soting if you leave it outside as the carpets will soon stink and begin to rot.
Best of Luck

My 2001 leaks like sieve also. I can see the previous owner has messed around with the screen seal in atempts to fix it . Is the screen easy to get replaced by people like autoglass.
When my screen went twice a couple of years ago Autoglass did a fantastic job via Walldonway. I have heard of awful jobs with the dash being torn and paintwork scratched, so make sure you go via a dealer who can recommend someone with TVR experience. Saying that I do know Joken on here has waited since March for a screen. I think four were delivered all cracked.
A bit of advice....
When my screen went twice it was in very hot weather and it appeared that the body had flexed or something, stressing the windscreen. Both times my car was just parked in full sunlight in my drive. Also Kev Nth's Chim screen went in identical circumstances just parked up. No chip damage, just long cracks. My advice if the weather does get hot as they are predicting, would be to always use a screen protector or park out of the sun iff poss.
