I have a very late 2006 Tuscan S with the convertible dash. I use a CTEK maintenance charger and sometimes it now flashes as if it isn't connected properly. It needs wiggling a few times to get it to seat properly and I'm thinking the cigarette lighter is just worn out through years of me using the CTEK.

SO how to I get at the lighter socket for removal please? Also do I need to disconnect the battery because the socket has permanent power?

Thanks

I've a Tuscan convertible.
My socket sometimes pulls out of the panel when I, or my Wife, try to unplug something without being careful.
Just been to take a look and yes, its a push in fit from the front.

Thank you!

Are there any tabs or anything or just give it a tug?

I think that what ever is holding it in place is spring loaded.
I didn't have to pull to hard to overcome the resistance and it then started to slide out smoothly.

NO joy here, I had a screwdriver behind trying to pry it out and nothing. I'm concerned I will break the plastic casing, it definitely doesn't want to come out.

Could just clip straight to the battery.

Sounds like the usual where TVR fitted what was at hand that day.

If it’s like the mk1 it screws in.
