Like most/all? Tuscan owners build used the pre-March 2006 exemption so the car fell into Band K even though they are above 225g.

I have been informed that this no longer applies after the budget,

Does anyone know if this is true?

VED will jump from £330 to £600 for a weekend car that does 1000 miles a year...

The only thing in the book about car VED is the following.

2.87 Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) – The government will uprate VED rates for cars, vans and
motorcycles in line with RPI from 1 April 2021.

If you can't afford another £5 a week, let me make an offer on the Tuscansmile

Go 2/3rds of the way down this article, to the pre 2006 table and there is a lovely little '*' next to Band K which should put your mind at rest!

This seems to get asked every year and it hasn't changed in the 15 years since the uprating of bands L and M for cars registered after 23/03/06.

VED bands are hardly ever done retrospectively (the 23rd March was budget day that year) but the asterisk on the table could eventually go away one day. But since we're now half way to 2001 cars being £0 VED....... smile

Many TVRs registered after April 2006 have no emission data (low volume rules maybe?)so pay VED as LGV, like many grey imports, currently £275 p.a. I think.

Thanks all,

I saw a VED chart for older cars published by Honest John and the new (budget) VED rates / clean air policy and they had left the * off of the K band.

Probably just an oversight (for now)!
