I'm probably about to need to get my alloy wheels refurbed to get rid of some ugly scrapes and also need to put some new rubber on them as well. Would it be worth while getting them refurbed with the tyres off or would the refurb place do that as a matter of course?

Any recommendations for wheel refurb places near Gloucester or Cheltenham? What tyres (and what sizes) are currently recommended? Are Michelin PS4s the flavour of the day or something else?

They should take the tyres off to do a proper refurb, so its a good time to replace them.

Thanks - they do a quote system so I'll have to take some photos and see what they say.

Hence my looking for suggestions as to tyres to put back on them. If I can supply the new tyres with the alloys, it will save a trip to a tyre fitter who might then damage the rim.

Anyone with any experience of Apex Wheels, Glos, by any chance? http://www.apexwheels.co.uk/

Would be interested to hear thoughts on tyres, I understand avoiding 'XL' load ratings is the way to go with our cars?
