OK - here we go....owned an early Tuscan for all the right reasons, but reluctantly got rid because it always had something wrong with it.Is it time to now go back in and buy a Tuscan S?? Currently got an M3 which I use everyday - motorways and bumpy local B roads - up to 17,500 miles per annum. Is it too much to ask that the Tuscan could cope?

Not unless you're abolutely minted as the the running costs alone will be £****K, plus you'll be losing your car 3 times per year just for servicing, etc...

Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favour of using TIV's regularly, but 18K miles per year over time will inevitably hit you very hard in the wallet (plus make you miserable as the inevitable niggles will get on your t*ts)

Buy a sh*t car for putting the miles on.... seems to me, many of the people doing high miles do this, and don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise.

I've only ever seen 1 tuscan with over 60,000 miles. The vast majority of 2000/2001 'early tuscans'have 20-30k miles on them at most, that equates to 5000-7000 miles per year, which funnily enough is what I do. Nuff said.

I agree with the comments about the high cost of running. I drove 20k miles last year and would have done so in my tuscan but due to various reasons it spent time being repaired and I only managed 12k miles in the tuscan. However, it sill cost 10k in servicing & repairs.

If you are going to do high mileage, buy a new one and get 3 years / 36k miles waranty. At least you will mitigate the repair bills for a while.

I am seriously looking at a new one becuase I think it will be cheaper to run than my 2001 model.

Go for it.....
